The Expat Greece website is an offshoot of the long-running Expats in Greece Facebook Group. In August 2024, the group had over 76,000 members, making it one of the most important online communities for people relocating to Greece.
What you’ll find on the Expat Greece website
This website was created so that guides and answers to the most commonly asked questions about moving to Greece and life in Greece could be more easily found in one place.
Currently maintained by Dave, it is a work in progress. Some guides to expat life in Greece are yet to be written. Existing articles are constantly maintained when rules or visa changes determine.
Some of the subjects covered (or will be covered!) on this site include visas for Greece, banks in Greece, insurance, real estate in Greece, taxes in Greece, and general insights into living in Greece.
Please read carefully
The information contained in Expat Greece should be a supplemental resource when it comes to making decisions about moving to Greece, or working out which visa might be best for you. You should NOT use this site as your only source of information!
Use the Expat Greece website to give you a base understanding of what it might take to move to Greece. Use the facebook group to get community insight. You’ll most likely need a lawyer and/or an accountant to take your Greek expat journey to the final stages though.
